History and other comments

I purchased this computer's mainboard on auction from the U.S. in the beginning of 2007, because I wanted to use the enclosure and PSU of my dead DECstation 5000/200. I simply refitted the 3MAX+ mainboard into the 3MAX box by cutting a bigger hole for the AUI connector (which was the biggest obstacle for putting in the 3MAX+ mainboard). Then I removed the 'DECstation 5000/200' label and replaced it by the 'DECsystem 5000/240' label that came with the mainboard.

Technically speaking, this computer is no longer a 'DECsystem' as it says on the box, because I've added a graphics card. DECsystem 5000's are identical to DECstation 5000's with the exception of the installed graphics option in the DECstation model.
