COMMENTS | Openwin in Solaris 2.4 is very slow. It was obviously built to run some older SunOS version. It has plenty of RAM, but this doesn't seem to help. |

I tried to get more speed out of it by adding the maximum amount of RAM
(it takes 1 MB or 4MB 30 pin PC SIMMs) but for some reason it just seems
too slow for any use. It would, however, perform very well when I tried
some file transferring through it's ethernet interface (ftp). This is box
was appearantly meant for 24/7 heavy network load. A good feature is that
it has really low power consumption.
Update: I no longer own this system. It was sold in October 2002.
